Ian Holdsworth - Senior Solicitor

Ian Holdsworth is a senior solicitor in our Commercial Property Team.

Ian has over 40 years’ experience as a solicitor, spending the first half of his career as a litigator and the latter half as a property specialist, dealing predominantly with commercial and agricultural property. He was a partner in a Wakefield firm for many years before setting up his own legal practice as well as an estate agency in Halifax.

Ian has extensive experience in commercial property work (and occasional residential property work where there is a commercial or complex element) for individuals, businesses and pension funds, including commercial landlord and tenant matters, acquisition and disposal of business properties, exclusivity agreements, pre-emption rights, options and overage agreements, development work and secured lending. He was recently the lead solicitor in one of the highest value commercial property acquisitions in Yorkshire, which was completed in a very short timescale.

His love for the outdoors means that he particularly enjoys dealing with agricultural land, including woodlands large and small which he has bought and sold for clients throughout England and Wales.
