Our Employment Solicitors

At Newtons there are four solicitors who deal with employment cases.

Paul Hargreaves

Paul was admitted as a solicitor in 2001 and is based at our Darlington office. He deals with employment law matters and commercial litigation and is head of Newtons’ employment unit.

He has appeared as an advocate in Employment Tribunals and represents both employers and employees.

His charge out rate is £200 per hour (plus VAT).

Malcolm Jones

Malcolm was admitted as a solicitor in 1982 and is based at our Knaresborough office. He spends approximately one third of his time dealing with employment matters. The rest is spent on corporate work, commercial agreements and intellectual property matters.

He has appeared as an advocate in Employment Tribunals from Newcastle to London and from Cardiff to Norwich. Most of his work is for SME businesses but in employment cases he represents both employers and employees.

Malcolm’s charge out rate is £220 per hour (plus VAT).

Oliver Hebdon

Oliver was admitted as a solicitor in 2014 and is based at our Stokesley office. He also spends approximately one third of his time dealing with employment matters. The rest is spent on corporate work, commercial agreements and intellectual property matters.

Oliver’s charge out rate is £180 per hour (plus VAT)

Philippa Roberts

Philippa was admitted as a solicitor in 2014 and is based at our Darlington office. Philippa’s work load is entirely focused on a range of employment matters.

Supervisor

The supervisor of the four employment law solicitors is Chris Newton; admitted as a solicitor in 1995 Chris is based at our head office in Knaresborough.
