Harrogate Office Transcript:
Chris: I thought I’d give you a quick walk around our new Harrogate office. Now, when you see what it’s like inside, you’ll realise why it was so difficult to purchase in its current state. The main banks saw it as a development and didn’t want to lend on it. The bridging finance companies saw how much work needed to be done and needed to understand when they’d be able to exit after all the time with planning because it’s a listed building and, of course, getting the building works done before then refinancing. But we got there. If it was easier, we probably wouldn’t have got it because there’d have been a lot more competition for it. Anyway, come on inside and see what you think.
So, here we are in what will be the reception. We will have some desks for the support team and a couple of meeting rooms. As you can see, the building has been stripped right back. It will be interesting in a couple of years’ time, when it’s finished and all sparkly and new, to look back at this video and see what we started with. Let’s go and show you the basement.
So, we’re now downstairs in the basement with excellent storage and all sorts of little side rooms going off. And as we come to what is to the front of the building, you will see the best will storage ever. Come on inside my vault!
So, we’ve come upstairs to the first floor. This will be the main work area for the solicitors and, as you can see, provides an excellent view of Harrogate and, currently, the Christmas fair.
So, we’ve come now up to the second floor, where there’s even more space. There are various thoughts as to what we can do with this. I thought it’d be quite a nice sort of breakout social area for the team.
Here we are on the third floor and what I quite fancy for this is some sort of company flat provided, of course, if the planners let us do it.
And finally, there’s a fire escape out of the back with some great views over Harrogate.
